Why Turkey

Accessible, affordable, on the rise

Easier access

Often more direct admission and a less risky student visa than for France, a major asset against visa refusals.

Controlled costs

Public universities around 300 to 1,500 dollars/year and a cost of living of about 400 to 600 dollars/month (outside Istanbul). Far more affordable than Western Europe.

Generous scholarships

Türkiye Bursları: tuition, housing, health, monthly allowance, flight ticket and a Turkish language year. About 5,000 scholarships per year.

English-taught programs

Many programs in English (no Turkish needed), and a preparatory Turkish year offered to scholarship holders.

What you should know

The points to watch, and how GSC protects you

We honestly present the limits, and how our support reduces them.

Regulated post-graduation work

No automatic post-study visa: about 6 months to search via a short residence permit, and the work permit is requested by the employer (quota of about 5 Turkish employees for 1 foreigner).

How GSC protects you: We guide you towards promising sectors (engineering, IT, tourism, management) and prepare the post-graduation step.

Degree recognition

Plan for the equivalence (YOK denklik) and above all check the recognition of the Turkish degree in your return country (Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Togo) or in France.

How GSC protects you: We frame the choice of program and university according to your return or continuation plans.

Language and integration

Daily life happens in Turkish; English-taught programs do not remove the language barrier off campus.

How GSC protects you: Preparatory Turkish year (scholarship holders), housing guidance and arrival welcome to ease integration.

Private universities are expensive

Private universities from 4,000 to 20,000 dollars/year (medicine 22,000 to 25,000 dollars). To weigh carefully against your budget.

How GSC protects you: We guide you towards public universities and scholarships, and compare options against your real budget.

Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer? Write to us.

Do I need to speak Turkish?

Not necessarily: many programs are taught in English. A preparatory Turkish year is offered to Türkiye Bursları scholarship holders to ease integration.

What does the Türkiye Bursları scholarship cover?

It is fully funded: tuition fees, housing, health insurance, monthly allowance, flight ticket and a Turkish language year. About 5,000 scholarships per year for more than 120,000 applicants from 170 countries.

Will my Turkish degree be recognized?

You must plan for the equivalence (YOK denklik) and above all check recognition in your return country. GSC frames this point by program before you commit.

Can I stay and work after graduating?

It is possible but not guaranteed: about 6 months to look for a job, with the work permit requested by the employer (quota of about 5 to 1). Best chances in engineering, IT, tourism and management.
